March BoxyCharm Luxe Box Review
March BoxyLuxe Box is here! Since I've had some time to use the products now, today I'm going to review all the products I received :)
The item I was most excited about was the I.T. Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream. I have heard so many good things about this and how it has all these great skincare ingredients in it (collagen, hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, antioxidants and colloidal oatmeal). I've gotta say, now that I've had some time to use it, I am really liking it. I feel that it really moisturizes my skin during my night time routine, and in the morning, my skin feels so soft and looks more radiant. I've been having some issues with dull skin lately due to stress and what not, and I feel like this really solved it for me.
The next item is the Iconic London Sculpt and Boost Eyebrow Cushion. You've probably heard of cushion foundations before, and maybe even a cushion blush...But this was something really new to me. So just like any other cushion, you dip you brush into the cushion, and your product will come out. I was really scared to use this at first because of how dark the product appeared in the pan. But with the right brush, you can really get the realistic hairlike strokes and get a really good brow on. The product does come with a brush, but I have found that I don't like it because it's too soft and flimsy. I like to use my Anastasia Beverly Hills #7B brush and it gets the job done beautifully. The formula is also great. Once it sets, it will last all day long, and I find that it's smudge proof and water resistant.
For my look, I used the Morphe 15N Night Master palette. It has these beautiful, creamy matte shades that I have been loving. This palette also has some cool tone browns and purple shades. I was fairly surprised by this palette and how creamy the matte shades were. They were so easy to blend and so pigmented. Some of the shades were swatching patchy, but once I used a brush and blended it, it looked so seamless. I also found that I liked the matte shades more than the shimmer ones, which was unusual for me. The shimmer shades were still beautiful, but it was so creamy, it almost has this tackier finish to them so it wasn't blending as easy. Overall, I think this is a very good palette! You can create some really easy and simple day looks, and then use the darker shades to create a more dramatic look - very versatile.
So you guys know I LOVE the Ardell Faux Mink Wispies, I use them all. the. time. lol. I just haven't found lashes that go on as effortlessly as the Ardell ones. I do have smaller eyes, and a lot of the lashes I try are just too big, even when I cut them. Of course, if you cut them too much, it just destroys the shape it comes in. I did like the Lilly lashes in Gaia style, they're limited edition ❤️However, I still find that the lash band is too thick. It's an invisible band, but the band make it harder for me to conceal. But once I got it on, they were really comfortable to wear, and they look really good :)
I was also very excited for the next product, The CoverFx Perfector Face Palette. It's such a travel friendly size with everything that you would need in regards to face powders. It comes with a finishing powder, a brightener, a contour color, a blush, and 2 highlighters. I find that the finishing powder has some fine shimmers in it, to really give a glowy look. I use it to set my undereyes and I think it works really well. The shimmers are not chunky at all, and it definitely gives a nice finish. The contour color is a nice tone for my skin tone. It's not too warm or cool toned, and doesn't get muddy on the skin. For the blush, I LOVED the color. It's a really nice pinky toned blush, so it's perfect for the natural glowy look. For highlighting, I actually like the "brightener" the best! Since I really like a powerful glow, the brightener really packs on a punch and gets you the best highlight. For a more subtle and natural highlight, you can use the 2 "highlighters" provided :)
The box also came with 2 Moda Face Brushes. I love the chrome handles, they're so pretty! The brush is also very soft and helped put on my face products effortlessly.
To finish the look, I used the Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Dune. The color is described as a soft, peachy nude. I found it to be more orange-y on my skintone, and almost appearing as a coral.
I love the formula, it's so moisturizing! It definitely has a sheen finish and gives you the "glossy" appearance. I'm going to continue using this, but more as a "highlight" shade when I'm using a darker lipstick!
For the more skincare related products, I have been loving the Wander Beauty Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask. For any peel off masks, my trick is to put a thicker layer on so it'll be easier to peel off. I also find that it's less painful lol. I recommend using this mask once or twice a week to "purify." Also, I'd recommend only using this at night, because when you peel it off, if you have lighter skintone like me, your skin will be a little red at first. But the results are great so far! My skin feels so nice afterwards, and I have the "clean" feeling with it being squeaky clean. I have sensitive skin, and this mask has not broken me out or irritated my skin.
Last product in the box is the Adesse New York Age Defying Fortifying Shea Treatment. I have been letting my nails recover and nourishing them a lot. I find that this is a really nice cuticle oil and has organic properties. My nails are shinier and stronger after daily use so props to this!
This was my first Luxe Box, and I have to say, I'm very impressed with the products! They were all products I haven't tried yet, from brands that I already love. I definitely will be upgrading again next time, because it's a really good deal to get full size products from these reputable brands! For those new to boxycharm, it is a $21.00 monthly subscription (which you can cancel at any time), and once a quarter, you can get an upgraded box with more products for an additional $28.99. The total for that month where you'll get 1 upgraded box, is $49.99. I've tried a lot of beauty subscriptions before like ipsy, Play by Sephora, Birchbox, and now BoxyCharm. I have to say that although Boxycharm is a little expensive at $21.00 a month, I think it's worth it! They have good items for their subscribers, and there's communities and forums out there where you can swap products if you don't like the one you received!
